A grassroots network that spans the continent, chapters enable Audubon members and others to meet and share an appreciation of their common interests. They create a culture of conservation in local communities through education and advocacy, focusing on the conservation of birds, other wildlife and conservation of important habitats.

In Texas, three urban Audubon Centers provide a gateways to amazing natural places in Cedar Hill, San Antonio, and Dallas. Together Dogwood Canyon, Mitchell Lake, and Trinity River Audubon Centers educate over 30,000 students a year and inspire a growing community of conservationists. Sabal Palm Audubon Sanctuary, managed by Gorgas Science Foundation, safeguards one of the last stands of Sabal Palm jungle in the United States.
